I see 3 Williamson's who enlisted in Company D, 49th Infantry Regiment North Carolina (this covered Moore County). They are Matthew Williamson, Patrick Williamson and Wyatt Williamson.
My connection is Wiatt Williamson (family bible spelling)who enlisted 12 March 1863 (as did Patrick) in Moore County and died 14 Sep 1864 in a hospital in Richmond, VA.I have note that he enlisted at age 40 which would put his birthday in c1823.The 1860 census shows his birthday abt 1825.
I have found a grave of David W Williamson 1828-1864 in Hollywood Cemetary, Richmond VA and is notated as an NC 49th Reg soldier.
I assume with only 3 names to choose from this must be Wyatt and my ancestor.
Here are more details about Wiatt Williamson. In the family bible he married Julia Ann from Moore County.I believe this is Julia Ann Yow, oldest daughter of Matthew Yow and Maloney Stutts of Moore County.Julia is living with her grandfather Andrew Yow in the 1850 census and next door to Matthew's family.
Waitt and Julia Williamson marry in the early 1850's and by the 1860 census Moore County, have 3 children: Martha J, Mary A and John C. By the 1870 census Wiatt is dead and Julia is living on the farm with her 3 daughters, Martha J, Mary a and letty V. (John Clarkson is living with Ruebin Pearce in Randolph County). In the 1880 census Shuffield, Moore, North Carolina only Martha and Mary are remaining on the family farm and with 2 children Charlie and Annie.
They are living in the cluster of Williamson households of: 1850: William Williamson, Hiram Williamson, Wyatt Williamson 1860: Bailey Williamson, William Williamson and Wyatt Williamson 1870: Lewis Williamson, Hyman Williamson, Davis Williamson, Isaac Williamson, Wiatt Williamson, Baby (Bailey), AMD (Alexander), Williamson and Andrew Williamson.
I am sure all of these Williamson family's are related but I have not peiced it together. And I have not found who my Wiatt belongs to.And is his real name David?Any help would be appriciated.
