I live in Raleigh, NC and I am trying to complete an application for the Daughter's of the American Revolution. I have documents proving my ancestry from my patriot John Leveridge (1752 – 1823) through to myself with one exception. I need to prove that Asa E. S. Williamson ( 1822 – 1898) was the son of Raney (Rane, Rene)Williamson (1775 – 1845)and Sarah Leveridge Williamson (1793 – 1869).I am looking for a will, land settlement etc. that lists both Asa's name and either or both his parents. I have researched Mercer and Garrard county which they lived in and also Kansas which Sarah moved to after Raney's death following some of her sons but not Asa. I found two census (1830 and 1840) of Barren county listing Raney's household but of course back then they did not list names. I have located marriage bonds for Asa but because he was of age they do not list his parent's names. I know that Rane inherited 100 acres of land from his father Patrick William Williamson ( 1756 – 1818) in 1819 from Patrick's will in Garrard County and I have a document that says that Asa bought some land in 1882 but I can't find a document that says what happened to any of the land later. Do you know of any document that lists Asa with his parents Rane and Sarah listed also? I am desperately looking for a document that lists both Asa's name and either or both of his parents Rane and Sarah to complete an application for a DAR application. Can anyone help me?
