RE:J.Williams, I have an old land deed dated, October, 17, 1842. It has a J. Williamson as the recorder of the general land office. The land deed is from the United States, Virginia Line on Continental Establishment, pursuance of an act of the Congress of the Congress of the United States passed on the 10th day of August, in the year 1790. an Act to enable the Officers and Soldiers of the Virginia Line on Continental Establishment to obtain certain lands lying North West of the River Ohio.
This Deed is signed by a J. Williamson. A president named John Tyler signed this document. It contains a white paper seal with an eagle. I do not know if this is a James or John Williamson. Sure hopes this helps someone, Thanks, Dorothy...Aunelm@aol.com
