Miss Lillian Elizabeth "Muttie" Woollen was born (Winston-Salem?) North Carolina, June 23, 1861, the daughter of James Anderson Woollen, CSA musician, enlisted Greensboro, wed Susan Caroline Malcolm, daughter of Pvt. James Landreth Malcolm, CSA musician, and Elizabeth Page. She wed first Henry Lee, son of Charles Carter Lee, older brother of Gen. Rbt. Edw. Lee, Sr., CSA. She had Charles Carter Lee, LtCol Robert Henry "Marse" Lee, West Point class of 1912, and Mrs. Soule Olive Lee Henderson, born 1899; after the book "Lee Family of Virginia", by Edm. Jennings Lee, was published. Widowed, Lillian lived in Valdosta, Georgia, and wed Mr. Williford. Widowed again, she lived Jacksonville, Florida, where she died October 31, 1920. "Muttie" is buried Elmwood Cemetery, Charlotte, N.C., where mother, Mrs. Susan Caroline Malcom Woollen is buried, and is her sister (my grandmother) Mrs. Ruby Vallery "Tee" Woollen Miller, is also buried, 1884-1968. "Muttie" reared her younger sister "Tee". Who was her Williford husband? Where is he buried (Valdosta?)? Jim, Southport, N.C. Sgt. Woollen buried Old Salem, N.C., municipal cemetery. Pvt. Malcolm believed there also in an unmarked grave; he died Nov. 8, 1895, age 79.
