Two Willmann families were in Chambersburg between 1832 and 1840.Johann Stephan Willmann, wife-Anna Margaretha, and two sons, Johann Nicolaus and Johann Peter came to USA in 1833 and by 1840 were living near Cambridge City, IN.Johann Ludwig (Lewis), wife-Anna Christina Keller, one daughter, Elizabeth and one son, Johann Peter plus Johann Ludwig's father-Johann Michael Willmann came to USA in 1832.Have not officially located them in 1840 census but have found a Louis Williams' family in 1840 Blackford County, IN. census that matches the number of male and female children that Lewis and Anna had by 1840.I do know that Lewis purchased land in Blackford County, IN. in 1842.I suspect that the Lewis Willmann family lived on the 80 acres purchased in Blackford County by Stephan Willmann in 1838 until the Stephan Willmann moved to Blackford County after 1840.I conclude that the Willmanns were gone from Chambersburg before 1840.While in or near Chambersburg, PA., Lewis and Anna Willmann had four children, Christina- born in 1832 or 1833, Catherina-born in 1834 or 1835, Anna-born in 1836 or 1837 and Lewis-born in Aug. 18, 1839.This doesn't seem to help link them to Paul Willmann and or Jacob Metzler.I don't have any record for a Paul Willmann born in 1806 to any of the Willmann families that I have records.I don't have any Paul Willmanns listed in any of my family histories. That seems unusual because the same names such as Michael, Peter and others show up all of the time.Sorry to be of no help.Regards!
