MRS. LIDA WEAVER DOUGLASS, wife of W.E. DOUGLASS, passed away at the family home in Whitebreast Township, three miles west of this city, on Saturday, August 12, 1905, at 12:00 p.m. at the age of 54 years, 10 months and 18 days, after a lingering illness of three years' duration. Largely attended funeral services conducted by Rev. D.C. Franklin of the M.E. Church were held at the family home on Sunday afternoon at three o'clock after which interment took place in the Chariton Cemetery.
Deceased was born in Ohio County, Indiana, on October 25, 1851. When quite young she came to this county and for several years resided with the family of her uncle, NATHANIEL WILTSY. On October 1, 1879 she was married to W.E. DOUGLASS who survives her. They were the parents of two sons, ROY of this city and RALPH of North Bend, Neb., both of whom were with their mother during her last illness. MRS. DOUGLASS had been a member of the M.E. Church for twenty-three years and her life has been full of good deeds. She possessed a lovely disposition and her kindly ways and noble character won for her the highest regard of all with whom she came in contact. Her death is genuinely mourned by a host of friends who extend heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing relatives.
