Winchell Dies Here At 26-Miles Edward Winchell, 26, of 319 Eighth Ave. N., veteran of World War II, died unexpectedly in his home late Tuesday.Mr. Winchell had been in failing health recently.He had been treated for a time in a Fargo hospital but had been released Monday.R. J. Yoder, Cass County Coroner, said results of laboratory tests, following a post mortem examination, were being awaited to determine cause of death.Born in Fargo Feb. 6,1926, Mr. Winchell attended St. Anthony of Padua School; Sacred Heart Academy; the State School of Science at Wahpeton, N.D. and Interstate Business College.He served in the Navy in the Pacific area from 1944 to 1946, and since his return had been employed by the Northern Pacific Railway.He married Ardis Olson of Barnesville, Minn.He also leaves a daughter, Lynette, 14 months; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Winchell, 1016 First Ave. S., and a sister, Mrs. Gerald (Mary) Munn, 1205 Fourth St. S., Moorhead.Service will be at 9 Friday in St. Mary's Cathedral, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. L. J. Arrell officiating.Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery with Boulger and Hughes Funeral Home in charge.Military rites will be by the American Legion.Rosaries will be recited in Boulger and Hughes Chapel tonight by St. Anthony Tabernacle Guild at 8 and by St. Anthony Legion of Mary at 8:30.The rosary also will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday by parishioners of St. Mary's.Mr. Winchell was a member of the American Legion; Switchmen's Union of North America and of Moose Lodge."
