Hi Kellie! Could you tell me more about your Martha Wind? My ggrandmother was also named Martha Wind (or Winn). I am not sure of her last name. She was born July 17 1851 - 1858 in either Luka, Mississippi or Tennessee. She married Andrew Jackson Tanner about 1876 in Texas. She died July 27, 1898 in Blaine, Indian Territory. I am not sure where Blaine was. I don't believe it exists today. It was probably in what is today the Haskell or LeFlore county area.
Her youngest daughter, Pearl (Tanner) McKinney Matlock, my grandmother, was born in May 1891 in Stigler, Indian Territory. She died October 11, 1931 near Depew, Creek county Oklahoma. She is buried in a small country cemetery north of Depew called Hall Cemetery.
Pearl was just a child when her parents died. She was raised by her older sister Maggie (below).
Martha's oldest daughter, Marguerite Katheryn (Tanner) Hall, was born about November 9 1879 - 1880 in Waco, Texas. She died January 17, 1970 in Bokoshe, LeFlore county Oklahoma. She is buried in the Old Bokoshe Cemetery in Bokoshe. Aunt Maggie (as we called her), was a long time resident of Bokoshe.
I know that Martha had more children than this but I don't have their names or birthdates.
If this sounds like your family or the Martha Wind in your message, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I would very much like to find out about her ancestors. I don't know anything about her ancestry. I can give you more information about these two daughters of Martha Wind.
