Yes I do own a copy of the book Highland County Cemetery Inscriptions and my mother has a copy of Philip's will, which is also published in the Chaney Family genealogy book that is currently available through our local genealogy society. Also another relative has gotten D.A.R. papers through Ellennor Chaney's father John Chaney. Another Miller cousin of mine (she's 84) wants me to get in the D.A.R. but she got in through her father's family the Duffey's. I would probably go through John Chaney since his papers are already filed. We probably could get permission to go on the property where the cemetery is but not sure there would be much left now. I have thought about it. Also is Elcy Windomaker Christena??? That has long been a question in this family. We think she is separate person from our Christena but if you have proof let me know.I know Elsie Ayres wrote a book and said she was our Philip's wife but there were several Philip Miller's in Highland County. We are not convinced. Below is information from Old Miller Cemetery located in Hamer Township:
Remarks: Here is buried Elcy Miller who lived to be 104 years old.To her is given the distinction of being the third oldest person to be buried in Highland County, from monument inscriptions.
This cemetery, except for the monuments lying broken and chipped on the ground, is obliterated. All stones copied.
The monument to Adam C. Miller was worn and broken and his death date could not be read.Examination of the papers in the Estate of Adam C. Miller, Decd., Estate No. 4211, Probate Court, Highland County, Ohio shows that he was a resident of Hamer Township when he died on July 11, 1879.His widow, Hannah Miller, waived her right to be appointed administratrix of his estate. This may be the same Adam C. Miller who is buried in this cemetery.Hannah could have been his second wife.
MILLER, Adam C. d.????, a. 88yrs,11ds. Sara W., wife, d. Jan.16,1864, a. 64-5-3. Hannah, dau., d. Oct25,1839, a. 2yrs 6mos. Delilah, dau., still born Feb.25,1842. Adam, son, d. Dec.22,1843, a. 8yrs 9mos. Elcy d. Apr.4,1852, a. 104yrs.
Philip and Christena did not have a son by the name of Adam, but John and Ellennor Miller did.Adam C. would have been born approximately 1791 and John Miller was born 1782 so he could not have been his father.Do you know names of all Philip Miller's children? Did they have an Adam.I don't have that name as one of his children. This is why we don't believe Elcy to be Christena.
