It is quite interesting to see a name, which might be somehow related to my familiys` name: Winkelhahn. There are some possibilies to write it, and the version "winkeljohann" is probably one of them: in the 19. Century several versions were written down. So you find "Winkelhannes" as well as "winkelhan". The Prename "Johannes" is quite often used in our family, as a kind of historical name for male members.
So maybe there is a relation, what´s for sure, is the link to the Bellersen origin, which also causes the relationship to Herman Georg Winckelhagen, wellknown as the murderer in Annette von Droste-Hülsdorfs´ "Judenbuche". Not to be proud about...
As I was for 25 years, I am still interested in the history of the winkelhahn family and "related" ones, maybe it is possible to find out if there is a connection.
So, if there is somebody, who might know about the history of "winkeljohann", please let me know.
