Cumberland County Order Book (No. 1) 1749-51 November 26, 1750 185 On the attachment of David Winniford against the estate of Joseph Sharpe he having privately removed himself or so absconds that the ordinary process of law cannot be served on him; for £3.12.1/2; The sherif made return that he had attached the following particulars of the Estate of the said Deft Viz one Feather Bed two Blankets one hand saw one broad ax two chissels one auger one drawing knife one claw hammer, one square & ten shillings cash & one Barrell of Indian Corn. P to recover debt and costs; sheriff to sell items at auction to satisfy judgment. [item also found in Fretwell's Abstracts]

Grandson George Cunningham (Under Age); Grandsons David Winniford and Charles Winniford; My grandson David Winniford; my neighbor Jacob McGehee to take the Negro Matt, Red and Jimmy into his possession and care and to keep them together with their increase of the said Matt until my grandchildren shall have a right to demand them respectively and that the said Jacob pay unto whomsoever shall have right to demand Matt such hire as he shall think sufficent for her service after satisfying himself for clothing and maintaining her and her children; unto Isham Bradley and William Bradley one feather bed and furniture as belongs to it at time of my decease, etc.
