I checked my database to see if I had anything.I do.Well, sort of.Kinda. (I now have over 33,000 entries and most are of people bbefore 1800. So, I looked through my index for POOR.I amaze myself.I have NO ideawhy I entered A Thomas POOR b1660 England toVA.I showthree sons and that's it. No Ship.No marriages, nothing! So I don't know what I was thinking?Mercy!
But then I also show some later POOR families and they were married to people with the following surnames.
Poor/MIMS (I have several MIMS and Wilburn marriages.(Goochland, VA c 1751.)
Poor/JAMES (Lots of James and Wilburn marriages VA/TN/KY related to line of Jesse James and brother Frank)
POOR/AVERY (At least one Wilburn/Avery marriage in VA)
Poor/Higginbotham (At least one Higginbothan/Wilburn marriage in KY) But Higginbothan and Wilburns were neighbors in Goochland, VA (tax lists of 1787)
Henry Franklin Jr b c 1740 m a Higginbotham. (I can check her name for you, if you wish.
Then there's the Higgenbotham/Ballinger marriage.Richard Ballenger was a Rev War vet.
Now all of these Wilburn families are related. And the duck theory tells me that Henry Franklin Jr b c 1740, and his descendants are the same Franklin line that you are interested in finding.
(Sorry, that I can't fill in the gaps here. But I'm cetrain that this is the Franklin familywho are kin to your later ancestors.) There are a number of ways of spelling Higgenbotham, so I would check out all of the forums until you find a Franklin connection.Hopefully this will give you enough clues to follow other leads.
Cheers to you and many thanks for all the good research that you share.

Let me know if you want me to send you more stuff from my database.Happy to do so.
PS.I suspect that this Robbins line goes back to Accomack Co VA and is related to the Welborns of Accomack VA from 1600's.Just a hunch.
