Okay, If anyone is interested here’s what I’ve “found/copied/assumed” on Wooten Winton so far.
Wooten was married twice. His first wife was Sarah Hardcastle.Caroline (Carrie) Hardcastle appears “wrongly” all over the place (on the web) as Wooten’s wife, “Sarah Vance Hardcastle.”Carrie was married twice: first to Wooten Winton then to Carl W. Vance.Carl W. Vance is listed on her funeral record as her husband (she died on 23 Apr 1976).Sue Tackle sent me a copy of the form and photos of her gravestone. Her son (by Wooten), Robert C. Winton, was the informant.Robert C. Winton married Hazel (I don’t have her last name) and they had three sons; Howard Daniel Winton, Ray E. Winton, and Randall Winton (one of my favorite names).Charles Kyle Winton married Thelma Maxine Allen, daughter of George Allen and Bessie Corbin.Charles and Thelma had two children; Allen Kyle Winton and Judith Carol Winton.I got a copy of Wooten Winton’s death certificate from the State of Oklahoma (OK is very fast with documents). He died “immediately” on 26 Feb 1945 of a cerebral hemorrhage. After Wooten’s death Retta Cox Winton remarried Eugene Joseph Holstein.
Wooten Winton and Sarah Hardcastle had two sons; Robert C. Winton (b. 1905) and Charles Kyle Winton (b. 1907).Wooten was the Chief Accountant for the Yukon Mill & Grain Company.Sometime around 1927 or before he and Caroline split up (haven’t found actual divorce record yet).Wooten then married Loretta E. Cox, daughter of Thomas C. Cox and Mary M. Halbert.Loretta (Retta) and Wooten had one son, Wooten Winton Jr. b. Aug 1927.I believe Wooten Winton Jr. married Betty Phyllis Tredway (b. 1929) but I could be wrong.
I have more Wooten Winton descendants, copies of documents, and more exact dates--if anyone is interested just ask.If you notice any mistakes or have additional information I’d like to hear about it.Thanks, Randy
