Re. Winteringham, etc.
I think at various times people in our family have removed the"e" and replaced it.I think I was told my grandfather (?great-grandfather) removed it sometime, so we spell it "Wintringham".But everyone wants to put that "e" in there. It kind of bugs me.
I don't know nearly as much as I would like to about my ancestors on the Wintringham side. My paternal grandfather Ivanhoe Charles Kimberley Wintringham was 60 when my father was born, and died about 9 years later. He had three wives, my grandmother was the 3rd. She died when I was 17, and I never really asked her lots of things I should have.I have a half-cousin I know only from the TV, and plenty of half-cousins I wouldn't know if I passed them in the street.I think it's sad.Any cousins reading this, please get in touch, before it's too late.
Jody.
