Found in the Farmer and Mechanic, Raleigh, NC, Sept. 19, 1878:
In 1839 there disappeared mysteriously from his home in Wuerzberg, Bavaria, a Jew, who had amassed gold in the cloth business. His family found no trace of him. Three of his sons came to this country and one remained in Wuerzberg. On the 11th inst., thirty-nine years after the disappearance, one of his sons, Bernard Wise, of Cinncinatti, got from his Wuerzberg brother the news that their father's skeleton had been found under Baron Von Oehtrey's stable. It was identified by a defect in the teeth. The murder was traced to George Popple, one of the Baron's stablemen.
I have no interest in this family and only post this as a resource.
