I am a decendent of John Wombacher (Peter's brother). They are the sons of Johann Wombacher (b: 1740) and Margaretha Belle (b: Jan 23, 1766) who married on May 16, 1790.John and Peter have another brother; Johann Adam who was born on April 23, 1797.I have Peter born on July 5, 1804.
I have John as born on April 5, 1794 in Alsenau-Grensenbach.I have that John married first to Catherine Hoffman on May 14, 1816 and they had 5 children:
-Margaretha (b: Sept 6, 1817) -Johann Adam (b: May 11, 1820) -Adam and Anna (possibly twins) (b: Mar 25, 1824) -John (b: Feb 22, 1827)
I have that Catherine Hoffman died on Aug 27, 1827 in Germany, but is now burried at St. Stanislau Hills, Iowa.
John Wombacher then married Eva Michel (b: 1809 - d: Sept 4, 1878 in Johnson County Iowa, and is also burried at St. Stanislau Hills), and they had 10 children - some born in Germany, some born here in the USA.They had:
-Peter (b: Oct 7, 1828 in Gatzenburg-Rheinbeyarn - d: Dec 12, 1913 at St. Clair in Mascoutah, IL) -Andreas (Andrew) (b: Nov 22, 1831 - d: May 9, 1912 in Washington County Iowa, buried at Mount Olivet in Riverside, Iowa) -Elizabeth (b: Aug 29, 1833 - d: oct 22, 1925 in Johnson County Iowa, also buried at Mt. On Feb 25, 1837, they migrated to the US on the Bremen Brig Ulysses and arrived in Baltimore, MD.Looks like the ended up in Cumberland, Maryland for a while. There they had 6 more children:
-Anna Wombacher(b: Feb 15, 1837 - d: June 21, 1918 in Washington County, IA) -George V. (b: 1838 - d: 1843) -Joseph C.
