I have followed your account of Mathew and Matilda Ann (Tucker) Woodgates, which all seems to point to Mathew and William (the schoolmaster) as brothers, who married two sisters, Matilda and Sarah Tucker, making their children cousins. However, if that was so, wouldn't Mathew and Willima appear among William Snr. and Grace (Hart)'s 6 children? What have I missed?
Another question. If Marie (de Balzac)'s daughter Marie is your grandmother, does that mean that she married Samuel Henry Woodgates' son James Allen(an)?
I would be interested to know of any other descendants of Samuel Henry's siblings. Although Emily (Woodgates) cOX'S children played an important role in my grandmother's life (Anabella's daughter) we know little of their descendants. or any other of her cousins (See my recent message under Woodgates of Devon)..
