Ruth, I am delighted that you joined the discussion on the Woodgates/Tucker families, thus keeping it open. I lived in hope! As a descendant of William and Sarah Woodgates, it has been fascinating to learn about Mathew and Matilda's family, and the close connection and mutual respect' Your reference to.your husband's gr. grandfather Richard Woodgates Tucker brings in the Tuckers. Thank you for the further details about place names. It is strange that the story of the two brothers and two sisters did not filter down our family. I have had to research it from scratch. It is also evident that descendnats of Mathew know little of the other side. I must organise my questions (that bit of research has got a bit rusty) and will come back to you. Thanks again.
PS. We donated two christening gowns and a wedding veil to the Honiton Museum. The latter had Honiton lace and we assume it came from Anabella Woodgate (my gr. grandmother) daughter of William and Sarah. I'll be back. Jancis
