Don't worry too much about mistakes in the US Census records. If you had researched the census as much as I have, you would know they have oodles of errors. The worst one is the 1870 census which deliberately left out thousands of white Southerners.
As for the omission of Texanna on the 1880 census, don't worry about that. I know she was a daughter of ROBERT NELSON WOODHAM and SARAH ANN ELIZABETH WIGGINS because of personal interviews and correspondence with some of her children. As for the 1910 census listing only 5 children -- at least that is better than the 1900 census--it states she was the mother of only 2 children! The census taker obviously counted only the two daughters who were still living with Sarah at the time and didn't bother to ask about other children.

Try and get all the records you can, as well as interview as many kinfolk as possible--including those not in your own direct family line because they can often fill in facts for you.
