Thanks for your posting! Since I left that post (2003),, I have actually found out that the picture of LORRAIN CHARLOTTE WOODINGS is my mothers' 1/2 sister.
The photo I have is not of Floyd Torrance Woodings sister, Charlotte Lorrain Woodings, but that of Lorrain Charlotte Woodings...note the first and middle name is switched.
I was sure for a long time that this picture was of your Grand-Aunt, Charlotte.
Your Grandfather, Floyd Torrance Woodings, was the son of ARTHUR WOODINGS and LUCY TORRANCE OSGOOD.
Arthur Woodings (your Great-Grandfather), had a brother named DAVID WOODINGS, who was my Great-Grandfather.
Here are the Census' that I found your Woodings line in:
1920 Gibbons Township, Clark County, Washington Census:
Woodings, Arthur, age 47, born England
Woodings, Lucy T., wife, age 42, born OH
Woodings, Winfield H., son, age 21, born OH
Woodings, Floyd T., son, age 19, born OH
Woodings, Alleyne, son, age 16, born OH
Woodings, Charlotte L., daughter, age 9, born OR
1930 Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky Census:
WOODINGS, Floyd T., Head, age 30, born OH, Engineer for Construction Company, WWI Veteran, Rents home,Married first at age 27, Father born England, Mother born Ohio.
WOODINGS, Erma, Wife, Age 30, Married at age 27, Born MD, Parents born MD
Floyd Torrance Woodings was born 5/25/1900, Sheffield, Lorrain Co., OH and died 9/29/1958. He married ERMA McAFEE on 7/2/1927, Philadelphia, PA.
Erma McAfee was born 8/10/1898, MD, and died August, 1980, Yakima Co., WA.
I do not have any children listed for Floyd and Erma, but I'm sure you have that information.
I have further WOODINGS information if you want it. Just send me an Email directly to email@example.com
The WOODINGS line goes back to JOSEPH WOODINGS and wife, ELIZA CHARLOTTE MORRIS of Stafford, England, whom we both share as Great-Great-Grandparents. This makes us something like second cousins....won't know until I get information on the children of Floyd Torrance Woodings and Erma McAfee.
