My ancestor Elias Lefever born abt 1743 owned Resurvey of Bennetts Resolution (Bonnetts Resolution in 1753 when his father Daniel Lefevre of Lancaster PA bought it). This property was located "11 miles from Frederick, Maryland on Hunting Creek on the road to Graceham".In 1800 this area was Emmitsburg (Emittsburg) District. Judging from their eldest child, sometime about 1764-7 Elias married a Mary Salome (maiden name unknown). She died March 1797 at age 49.Elias & wife Mary Salome are recorded in the Evangelical Reformed church, Frederick. The marriage of their son John Lefeber / La Fever and Catherine Marts / Mertz in the year 1800 is recorded in that church, but also in the Moravian church, Graceham, Frederick Co., MD, along with christening of several of their children.Nieces and nephews of Elias Lefever are recorded in both churches. John Lefever & wife Catherine Martz later were in a small Lutheren church in PA with a number of Troxell (Troxel). On my maternial side, a Nimrod Duvall in Ohio 1804 was guardian of a Charles Sipe (Sype, Sypes). According to LDS MicroFeshe Mary Salome was born in York PA on 18 March, 1749, the daughter of John Daniel Wotiring (Wotring) and Anna Mary Rebman. Baltzell & Lefever were somehow related in Maryland. It is quite possible that Mary Salome Wotring of Graceham born March 1748/9 was the wife of my Elias Lefever, but I can not locate proof of marriage.I hope someone knows who this daughter of John Daniel Wotring married and when and where.
