William K. Woodring Obituary William K. Woodring, 68, of 32708 Wooddale Dr. died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday (January 18, 2005)at Salem Community Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mr. Woodring was born January 23, 1936 in Canton to the late Kenneth C. and Pauline ( McAfee ) Woodring. He retired in 1990 after serving 25 years as a firefighter for the city of Canton. He was fire department historian for 15 years. A 1954 graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School, he was an Eagle Scout. He was an avid woodworker and barbershop singer and had owned Woody’s Ceramics with his wife for ten years. Survivors include his wife, Judy (Decker) Woodring; his children, Bob (Jennie) Woodring of Chicago, Dave (Carlene) Woodring of Massillon, Kathy (Joe) Burfield of East Canton, and Chuck Woodring of Chicago; brothers, Joe Woodring of Canton, Dan Woodring of West Chester, and Hank Woodring of Canton; sisters, Sally Maierhofer of Canton and Nancy Paul of Kettering; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Weber Funeral Home with Jeff Bullock, Canton City Fire Department Chaplain, officiating. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Saturday.
