The following is Iva Woodrow's obituary as it appeared in THE COUNTY PRESS on September 29, 1999: "Iva Virginia Woodrow--Lapeer Iva Virginia Woodrow, 73, of Lapeer, died September 27, 1999. She was born on April 8, 1926, in Columbiaville (Marathon Township), to Nelson 'Ray' and Ethel Eva (Blackmer) Stapleton.Iva married Milton C. Woodrow, on June 3, 1944, in Deerfield Township. Mrs. Woodrow, a lifetime Lapeer area resident, was a housekeeper at Lapeer County General Hospital for nine years and The Lapeer State Home for nine years.She worked over fifty-three years on the family farm along side her husband Milton, children and grandchildren. Iva is survived by her husband, Milton Woodrow of Lapeer; daughter, Marilyn Beard of Lapeer; son, Mark (and wife, Deborah) of Lapeer; grandchildren, Paula (and friend, Tom) Beard, Denise (and friend, Amy) Beard, Matthew Beard, Lynn (and friend, David) Woodrow and Kevin Woodrow; great-granddaughter, MacKenzie Beard; mother-in-law, Edna Woodrow of Columbiaville; sisters, Edith Burns of Millington and Frances Carmean of Columbiaville.She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Harold Stapleton and Elton Blackmer. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Thursday, September 30, 1999, at the Woodrow Family Farm, Lapeer.Pastor Keith Mead will officiate.Burial will take place in Hunters Creek Cemetery, Lapeer. Arrangements were made by Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer."
