Hello Julia,
I'm afraid I can't help much with your Abraham Woodsworth, but I'm interested in the name. My GGGG-grandfatehr Richard Wood was born in 1803 in Sledmere, Yorks, and changed his name to Woodsworth when he moved to Canada in 1830. In searching the IGI and many, many MI booklets for Yorks, I have yet to find another Woodsworth. Wood, Woods, and Wadsworth, yes, but not Woodsworth.
So, do you know how common (or rare) that name was in England in the late 1700s / early 1800s? I know Richard's father was born about 1726, but don't know where for sure. I suppose he may have moved to Sledmere from Cumberland, but have no evidence. Any help would be much appreciated.
