I am looking for anyone related to the Henry Wolverton-Private Company O, 11 Tn Volunteer Calvery died 9/23/1886- buried in National Cemetary in Knoxville Tn. I am told this is my great grandfather. I have found Green Co cencus records that show my great grandfather Henry and his family before him(his grandfater is listed as being born in Pennsylvania his grandmother in virginia) using the name wolaver, with various spellings. The first census records of 1830 have the name as Woolhaver. My grandfather Jacob, also buried in National Cemetary, was in the calvery which is actually the only tie I have with the Henry in the National cemetary other than the insistance of an Aunt that it is the same Henry. I did not come across this at the cemetary and start asking questions, My aunt (who is now gone) told me Jacobs father was buried there under Henry Wolverton and I went looking for him. She also told me Jacob was the first to use Wolaver but I have found w/ cencus records she was wrong about that. I can not find records of my great grandfather past the 1880 Green Co census.Could anyone out there help me with this?
