This is what I have on the line of Richard F. Woolfolk -There are plenty of clues that this family descends from the Woolfolks of Gloucester - Caroline Co., in Va. but the generations between are still murky.Please note that the name Sowell or Sowyell appears in this line - a a very big clue.
Thomas Woolfolk bc 1776 in Wilkes Co NC & d 19 Aug 1863 in Bibb Co., Ga. (Macon) His obit says he died aged 87 years, 6 months in Bibb Co., Ga.(East Macon) on 19 Aug 1863. Obit further states he was born in Wilkes Co., NC - moved to Jones Co Ga in 1800 (it adjs Bibb) & to Bibb in 1819 where he has since resided.
He married in Jones Co., Ga in 1818, Fanny Wadsworth, dtr of James & Nancy Davis Wadsworth (according to the bible of his son John William Woolfolk)
