I have come across three photographs which I think relate to the family of Jean Word who came from somewhere in Ireland (possibly Belfast or Ballymena) and went to Canada. They are on a picassa album which you should be able to access from here
The first in the album, studio photograph from Canada, has this message on the back:
298 Withrow Ave Toronto 11/12/13
Dear Minnie & Jeannie I wonder will you know anyone on this card, if not perhaps your Mother will. Thanks so much for your nice card last Xmas.I was often intend sending you a card, but we have we have been so unsettled. Love you all [unreadable] from May and George and wishing you all a Merry Xmas & a Happy & Prosperous New Year.Yours very affectionately Jean Word.
Minnie and Jeannie (Boyd) are children at this point, probably just a little older than the children in the photographs.I don't know if the Word family are related to the Boyds or to their mother who was a Kyle.I'd be interested to know more about them. The Boyds were living in Belfast from the early 1900s, though they came originally from the farmlands around Ballymena. It seems probable that the Word family were from the same place.
