Hello, I thought I'd post on here to see if anyone out there is tracing the same Worsleys as me.I'm only just starting out on this, so I don't have much information on them yet.
John Worsley born 1758, died 16 February 1845.Married Nancy Clayton of Rivington, Lancashire.John was also originally from Rivington and at some point in the late 18th / early 19th century, moved to Tockholes, Lancashire.
Children, Sarah 1782-1841, William 1784-1827, Lucy 1786-1835, Betty 1789-1868, James 1793-1870, Alice 1796-1868 and
John born 14 May 1800, died 9 March 1857. Lived at Ryal Farm and Lower Ryal Farm, Tockholes, Lancashire. Married Ellen Shorrock. John and Ellen are buried Tockholes United Reform Church (formerly the Congregational Church).
Children Ann, Alice 1834-1848, William 1836-1882, Sarah, James, Jane, John 1846-1859 and
Joseph, birth 1842 at Tockholes death 28 October 1889. Joseph lived at Cadshaw Brow Farm, Darwen, Lancashire. Married Esther Fish. I believe that Joseph was knocked down and killed by a tram in Darwen, although I'm still looking for details on this. Joseph and Esther are buried in Darwen Cemetary.
Children Elizabeth, James and
John Worsley birth 1868 at Tockholes. First marriage was to Ellen (surname unknown) who died in 1894, they had one child, Nellie.Second marriage was to Cecily Haydock of Walton Le Dale, Lancashire.By 1909 they're farming at Hampson's Farm, nr Egerton, Lancashire, but don't appear there on the 1919 electoral roll, later they farmed in the Salmesbury area of Lancashire.I think he may also have farmed at Hall Moss Farm, Prospect, Darwen around the turn of the 20th century, if this is the case, then it's the neighbouring farm to his mother who in 1901 is at Bull Hill Farm, Prospect.
