Hi!
I, too, would love to have further detail!
Here are little snippets that I have in my notes about Thomas' immigration to the US (but my info is unconfirmed):
Came to America from South Wales about 1796.Two brothers supposedly came with him.In 1812 he was taken back to England (?).In 1816 he returned to Wales for 7 years. In a write-up about O. O. Wozencraft it said that his ancestor was in Georgia during the War of 1812 and was captured and taken back to England for seven years. This probably indicates that he was still an English subject.
Apparently he left his family back in Wales when he came to the U.S., and when he returned after spending 7 years in Wales, he brought his daughter back with him.
There's a record of a Wozencraft on board the ship Jamaica Packet under Captain Tripp, arriving in Savanah in 1798.
Would love to know more about Thomas' Wales family, and his US family.
Thanks!
Mary
