I would be interested in corresponding with the William Wreford of Detroit that you mentioned in your posting.I am interested in William Wreford who came to Detroit in 1854 (b England 1833), specifically information on him and his meat and retail business that he opened in or after 1854.I am guessing that the William you mentioned is related to him.I have some information to share with him.
I am not related to Wm. Wreford as far as I know.My Perkins family came to Detroit, Michigan in 1832 from Scarborough, Canada.Wm. Perkins, Jr. opened the Perkis Hotel at the corner of Grand River and Middle St., Detroit in 1847.It was there into the 20th century, and was quite prominent.Wm. Jr. also had a Grocery & Provision Store, and a Meat Market.Perhaps he did business with William Wreford sometime between 1854 and the end of the century.
