From what I can tell by the postings, we are relying on the surname Wrightsman from the information at the Morgan County Public Library. This is supposed to be an account of what Willis directly stated.
Morgan County History & Genealogy, Vol. 5 No. 2, Sprint 1999, Pages 8 & 9Titled "Overton Cemetery" by Dale Drake.
I do have Jesse and Margaret in the 1860 Clay Twp, Morgan County, Indiana census, so clearly Elizabeth was deceased already.
The 1850 shows Jesse as a single parent so I am assuming Eva died prior to 1850 in Morgan County.Elizabeth Wrightsman is buried in the Overton Cemetery, as Willis is said to have stated in the aforementioned article. Also, the article states that she probably died between 1852 and 1856 as no other children are born afterward, and Jesse remarried Margaret Carpenter on Nov 6, 1856.
Morgan County, Indiana Marriages online database shows: Jesse OvertonElizabeth WrightsmanMarriage 12/31/1850 or 1/1/1851
This Elizabeth Wrightsman does not show as being a Mrs. Elizabeth Wrightsman so it is possible she was married before. However on the site of marriages before 1850 I do not show an Elizabeth Bryant or a Bryant marrying and Elizabeth.
Have you obtained the death certificate for Peter B. Wrightsman? It should show the parents names, and Elizabeth's maiden name.
