Carl, you may have already discovered this but the two John Risley's are not the same, John M. Risley was younger than John that married Catherine Waldon. John M. was born in 1826 so he would have been only about 5 years old in 1831, he first married ? 2nd he married Malinda Israel in 1861 and moved to Oregon. I think that the John Risley that married Catherine Waldon was in Clay Co. Indiana in the household with his brother Hiram Risley and Hiram's wife Louisa Parish Risley.Hiram and Louisa had married in Clay Co. Indiana Nov. 1st, 1826.The 1830 Clay Co. census shows two other Risley households, Samuel and John both sons of David Risley b. abot 1760 N.J. Sense Hiram and John were not sons of David the might have been sons of David's brother Daniel that was in Knox Co. with David in the 1820 census. Hiram and John are next found on the 1840 Wayne Co. Mo. census, and then in Lawrence Co. Ark. in 1850 but Louisa is HOH so Hiram I guess is dead. Louisa and son Alfred/Alford is back in Wayne Co. Mo. in 1860 but now I can't locate John and his family so I think John has died also.I did locate some of the children in 1860 but still have been unable to prove if some of them are the right children . John's oldest daughter Ruth I think is my gggrandmother and the only prospect I have sense the name is uncommon and she is the only Ruth Risley listed on any census that comes anywhere close to fitting the mold.
