I have been told that the Ruggaber name was originally Rukaber.I have not found any actually documentation. This came from my grandmother. Here is what I have:
Eustache and Christina Rukaber came to North America from Germany.(I don't know where they landed) Thier children were: Louise, Nora, Lena, Mary, Josephine, Christine, and Paul.(that I know of) Paul Ruggaber married Josephine Gauthier in 1885 in Tecumseh,Ontario Canada. Thier children were Nicholas, Ida Lucy, Wilfred, Walter, Pheony, and Mammie. Nicholas was my Great grandfather.
My connections don't seem to match yours unless Eustache came over with a brother, or had other children I don't know of.But somewhere there must be a connection, because like I said this name is not very common in North America. If you learn any more, I'd love to here from you.I've been trying hard to find were in Germany they came from, but I'm finding the language barrier a challenge.Good Luck.
