Pam Stienbarger Kline Cc: David Traul; Richard Traul Subject: New Genealogy Traul Connection
Hi Pam, My name is John Traul and I live in Colorado. I saw your message on Abraham Kant and that he had been the executor of John Thomas Traul's (Trowl's) estate. Thomas and Sophia had five boys and three daughters. I did not know his son John had died in 1829 and had left Hannah and Joseph. I did find Thomas and Sophia's grave site in the Sherman Church Cemetery just north of Boliva, Ohio. I do know my line grandfather[Conrad] and son of Thomas, (Conrad and Rachael Knisely Traul) inherited the family farm in section 9 of Bethlehem Township in Stark county after Thomas died. His son John had been mentioned as a pioneer and land owner in Stark county. I did not know John had died so young.
John Thomas Traul married Sophia Miller in Baltimore, Md, at the Zion Lutheran Church in 1794. They moved to Centre County sometime before 1800, as they are in the 1800 and 1810 census there. I have not found them in the church recordsin Centre county. They followed Rev Weyer , and several of their friends in Centre County to Stark County around 1812 and moved onto land close the the Krighbaums in section 9 of the Bethlehem township. This was the original farm plot. I have not got a copy of the deed but I am sure it is available.
I am stumped at the 1794 date, and can not find John Thomas Traul before that time. Clues are starting to come. Name (Trowl, Trowel, Trowell, Trowl, Troul) There are several Trowell's in NC, GA, Florida There was a James Trowell, orphan , age 16 1763, bound over to Peter Mercen in Cumberland Co, NC. This is near Fayetteville, NC reported by Mary Mark. There is a Trowell Family genolgy Forum There was a Trowell family reunion Aug 7,04, contact Sheila Ruiz. John Thomas Traul was reported in the Pioneers of Stark County to have served with Washington and Lafayette in the revolutionary war-- no back up data on this yet.
The question is how to get the right link to John Thomas Traul
Pam, I would be very interested in having a copy of the will of John Thomas Traul which I think you have obtained. If you have any data that may be of interest in looking at clues in the 1700's I'd be very interested.
