I know Absolum Igo, son of Daniel Igo b. about 1809 & Sarah "Sallie" Hughes, b. Sep 1833 married Parthena Yarborough (Yurber) on July 18, 1855, and that she was the daughter of Thomas Yarborough & Elizabeth "Lizzie" Power or Powers. This was in page 144, Book 1, Morgan Co., KY Marriage records. They were married in Perry Wiler's house, had a license on July 18, 1855, and Obadiah Sexton certified their marriage on the dame say as their license.
Did the Yarborough family not want Parthena to marry Absolum Igo, and did they elope?
I know they ahd two children at least Newton Igo and Mary Igo.Accrding to the 1860 Census of Bath Co., KY in the Owingsville District, Absolum and Partena's children were born in 1854 and 1859 respectively.
I found in the 1850 Morgan Co., Ky census a Thomas Yarborough family with Thomas age 66, his wife Elizabeth about 55, I recall, "Berthena" about age 19, and a Elizabeth Yarborough age 1, with Thomas Yarborough and John Yarborough, and another female whose name I cannot recall. This is available on ancestry.com.
There is a "Buda" Igo who married Feba Ann Rose on Feb. 28, 1878 in Menifee Co., KY.This was on page 48 in Vol. 4 of Morgan Co., KY Marriage records.Robert Rose and W. Hamm were witnesses.
Also, on page 156, Vol 3 of the same Morgan Co., KY marriage records it states "1878 Budia Igo to Feba A. Rose" (wrong info given-correct info also listed in same courthouse)
IS the Budia who married Feba A. Rose on FEb. 28, 1878 the same person as "Absolum Igo" who married Parthena?
I would appreciate more guidance.BTW, do you know where Parthena Yarborough Igo was buried, and where Budia or Absolum Igo was buried? Was he buried close to Parthena since they shared two children, or in another county or cemetery in Menifee Co., KY?
