Re. message from S. Cappel. I have the referances you mention. Andrew Yarranton whom you mention is quite famous for bringing the tin plate industry from Holland to England. He had two sons ( one of whom developed the canal systems in South East England). He was never in America, nor were his sons.In a list of all Yarringtons born, married, or in court records in England 1550-1770 (Wards list) there is no Peter. Nor is there any record of Peter in America before the Church records in Beverly 1692-93. A Will Yarington is noted in Geneal. Dictionary of Maine and New Hamp. and NEGHS 36: 73-74, 1882, as being in Dover, N. H. in the 1680s. He may be Peter(1)'s father and Peter may have come south in 1670s to marry Abeah Woodward where she was born in Wenham, Mass. very close to Beverly. She was the Daughter of Ezekiel and his second wife Elizabeth, married in Wenham Dec. 20, 1672. Abeah was probably married at about age 16, with two children in her first two years of marriage. Not unusual in those times. Again no recods of Peter found yet before 1692 in Beverly. All notes about his birth in Conn. 1675 (which would make him a father of three at 17) are guess work, as is the reference to Wm. and Alice. This is discussed in the Potter-Richardson Memorial, pp. 310-311.There was a Peter Woodward in Dedham, Mass. with a daughter Alice, who could have been William's wife thus with a son Peter about the right time, but again no record found. Need to search church records in Wenham, Ipswich ( where Abeah was brought up, after her mother died and Ezekiel remarried), and Dedham.
