Hi Wendy I am also related to the Yaws I believe we are cousins through Amos Yaw,(however distant). I appreciated your last update very much.I think I might be able to give you a bit of help in eliminating Franklin M. Yaw's excess wives by way of Census reports. This is a good one
1910 U. S. Census Des Moines Twp. Polk Co. IA YAW, Franklin/Head/MW/70/M3/17yrs./MI NY NY/Carpenter YAW, Mary Bell/Wife/FW/39/M1/17yrs/IA PA IA/ch.6/lv.5 YAW, Henry/Son/MW/19/S/IA MI IA/Laborer YAW, Laura/Dau/FW/13/IA MI IA YAW, William/Son/MW/10/IA MI IA YAW, Frankie/Son/MW/9/IA MI IA YAW, Gracie May/Dau/FW/3/S/IA MI IA
You'll note that Franklin,at age 70 is on his 3rd marriage. It is the first for Mary Bell, who is REALLY a lot younger.Henry has to be from wife #2 since they have been married only 17 years. So if Charlotte was #1, you only need to find the mother of Henry and discard all the other "wives" you've had trouble with. (BWG)
You probably already know, but there was another Frank Yaw in Berrien Co., MI.He was older and b. in MA.But he could be the one who is muddying the waters for you.
Nice to see your grandfather William in this census. I have the 1900 one also, if it would be of any help to you.
