I have Richard Yaw, perhaps born Wales,England; married Elizabeth (Betsie) Disponet in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana on June 30, 1806.In 1810 they were both in Avoyelles Parish, LA.In 1820 Elizabeth was listed as a widow in St. Landry Parish. She was French Huguenot (Protestant) Her dad was Christopher or (Joseph?) Disponet, he married in 1823 to Mary Ann Jonet Honney. The father of Christopher Disponet was Johan Jacob Disponet, born abt 1714, in Alsace, Lorraine France. He came to America in 1739 and died in 1756 in Frederick Co., Virginia.Christopher andMary Ann may have had another daughter, Catherine Disponet, who married Henry Stockman.
There is some inf that shows Jacob Disponet being in the War of 1812 from Lousiana.Richard Yaw also fought in the War of 1812 from Louisana. Will (or William) Yaw, born abt 1815, was the son of Richard Yaw and Elizabeth Disponet. He was born in Avoyelles Parish, LA.He married 1st Sarah Rosanna Henry, (no children) married
2nd Elizabeth Reed in 1837, at Opelousus, sp? Courthouse, LA.She was the mother of all his children.
Their children were:
1.Richard Yaws, born abt 1838, LA
2.Charles Louis Yaws,
3.Sarah Rosanna Yaws
4.William M. Yaws, born 1842 married Nancy Reader, born in Alabama; he died in Lloyd/Brancos/Puerto, Quay, NM, in 1909. Nancy Reader Yaws died in 1927 in Spur, TX. (our line)
5.Elias Yaws, born 1840 LA
6.Andrew Yaws, born Dec 8, 1849, LA
7.Maria Yaws, born 1839, LA
8.Christopher Columbus Yaws, born Feb 18, 1856 Gonzales, Gonzales, TX

9.King Yaws, born 1859, TX
10. Marin Yaws, born 1861, TX
11.Betsy Yaws, born 1862, TX
They probably were in TX by 1856.I have no death date for Will Yaws. His son William M. went into the Bastrop Co., TX and perhaps Milam Co., TX. migrating into Quuay Co., NM.They had several children and one of their daughters, Minnie Civil Yaws married George Washington Stratton in TX, my husbands grandparents.
Hope this helps, will answer any questions if I can.
