Yes, Edna was born 1 year prior to her birth 15-Mar-1848. She was living with her grandparents 1860. Edney used both Yearout & Stinnett during her lifetime, perhaps she didn't know which was her real name, as by law she was a yearout but by blood a Stinnett.
YEAROUT - P. O. Brick Mill, Tenn., 6th District, July 9, 1860- 738/ 738-F102-32
The child you have missing is Uncle Will, he is the one who changed his name from Stinnett to Yearout:
Uncle Will used the surname Stinnett until after 1910.As listed in the Blount County, TN census, 1910, 9th district, page 11AAll Born in Tennessee
William Stinnett 32, married 11 years, farmer
Minnie, wife, age 27
Callie, daughter 10
Sam, age 8, son
Willie, son, 7
Grace, daughter 5
James L. son 3
1920, Militia District, Walker County, GA'
William Yearout, 42, rents, occupation, carpenter
Minnie, wife 37
William 16, labor, bleachery
Grace, 15, topping, hosiery mill
Though the family had been split in 2 since 1912, the younger children going to NC the older 3 remaining in TN, I was able to locate several of the grandchildren of Uncle Will. Mildred Boystrom Nix (d/o Grace) told me a lot I didn't know before, but no one seems to know why the name change or who raised Uncle Will. According to Mildred, Uncle Will was the s/o Napoleon Bonapatre Ellis and that particular family helped them in lean years.
The first child, Lemuel was a child of rape and yes, I do have his name because Edney's brothers killed him and made it appear like an ambush. The police record for the ambush is at Maryville. According to family legend, it was her brothers who did the killing, however, I have never located any sign of any other child of the marriage of William & Harriett and think perhaps it may have been some other kin. Uncle Lem was raised by Lewis Elbert & MJ Yearout Williams, the same who founded the Willliams Hensley Lutheran Boys Home in Knoxville. MJ was Edna's aunt
In 1870, we find Edney in jail:
Post Office: Maryville, Tennessee
Edna Yearout age 22, farm labor
This was due to the fact that she had Uncle Cal out of wedlock and wouldn't or couldn't name the father.
Snipping bits of info from my FTM, hope you don't mind

And heres Grannny's page on find a grave with pictures, links and lots of other info:
And yes, it is a very interesting family. It bothered me so bad when I found out the facts that I wrote a book on how I think things may have happened, of course it is listed as fiction and darn if they didn't actually publish it.
I do have lots more, and also have my own website plus another website on Yearouts where I did my best to piece together all the Yearout info I gathered on Yearouts after all the years of research. Can send links if interested.
