Edie,
The information that I have on Thomas Yerby was taken from the book, "The Heritage of Fayette County, Alabama", page # 488 & 489.Hildred Ausbon Carlson, 451 Country Club Court, Clarksville, TN. 37043 had submitted a story to the book on the Amon Yerby Family.
This is the way the story goes on Amon Yerby son,Alexander Yerby, in the book--
#11. Alexander (1841-1881) served in the Civil War.He returned to Fayette after the war and later went to New Albany, MS. where he married Mary Beard (1847-1911) about 1872.They had two sons, Arthur Frank (1874-19??) and Thomas Adley (1876-1960).After Alexander died, Mary and her two young sons went to Van Buren, AR. to live with her brother.Four of Alexander's grandchildren were still living in April 1998.
Glad the information was of some help to you.
Ruth Onsby
