Have you looked at the YOAKUM/YOCUM and other spellings families listed in the Family Tree of Marianne Arick-Senecal. To view it go to www.Rootsweb.com. Click on Family Trees.
In the search box for surnames and given names, enter Yoakum or any other Yocum spelling. I think she has over 2000 Yoakum's listed in her tree.
My great-great-grandmother Mary Yoacum Purdum, Ross County, Ohio, (which is very near Adams County) is one of those listed in Marianne's tree.
