I keep seeing refs to Johannes YOHO/JOHO coming over to the U.S. in 1738 on a ship referred to as the "Snow Two Sisters".
I believe this is wrong, the ship was named the "Two Sisters" and it was a "snow" ship-type.
A snow is a class of ship like a bark, brig, clipper, etc.A Brig was a two masted sailing ship with square-rigged sails, a Snow was just like a brig except it had what they called a "trysail" close abaft the main mast.
English translation of all of that is that a Snow was a two-masted sailing ship with square sails that had an extra, heavy-duty (prob triangular) sail rigged right behind the main mast & it was normally used during storms.
Anyway, the ship was not the "Snow Two Sisters" but rather the "Two Sisters".
