Hello Sylvia, By chance I noticed your interest in the name Yorston. I wonder if you have come across this person. Janet Yorston who married James Ainslie, coachman, in the parish of Lasswade, Midlothian. 2 Aug. 1772. Janet was the d. of Jas. Yorston, a labouring man, in the parish of South Leith, now in Lady Yester Kirk parish, Edinburgh. By 1803 James Ainslie was dead but I am not sure about Janet As far as I know they had at least two daughters, Jennet (Janet), and Ann who married Andrew Scott in Grayfriars parish Edinburgh in 1803.James Ainslie, though deceased in 1803, was said to be a 'gentleman's servant' in this parish,on the marriage record for Ann & Andrew, a 'coachman' would be covered by that title I should think. I believe that Janet Yorston was my GGGG Grandmother.Would you have any info that you could share with me? Thanks. Regards. Jane.
