Thanks very much for responding to my query. I have copies of the two books you mentioned, but haven't looked at them in a while. Hadn't realized they were written as recently as around 1970; when did Buck and Calvin pass away?
Where did you get the info about the brothers from Switzerland? Do we know their names? Is their country of origin definite? I've seen the Younce origins listed both as Swiss and Dutch. Must say, my Dutch friends didn't seem to recognize the name, though I did later see a Dutch film where one of the main characters was a Yantz or Yantze.
You said "Grandma Susan"..do you descend from her? I know, the Osbornes were very connected to another Brown line from Ashe County that intermarried with mine. In fact, I suspect the two lines may have had a common origin. Does anyone know? What about Benjamin Senter Brown's middle name; does anyone know where he got it?
Would very much like to know more about Sarah (Sallie) Brown's husband, William Churchill Robinson, whom I believe she married sometime before 1850. I suspect he may have been related to one of Nancy Younce's daughters-in-law, Nettie Robinson. Nettie married my ggrandfather, Nancy's son, Tilman Grant Brown, who was known as "Uncle Bud."
I have a photograph of TGB and his children, probably taken during the time of Nettie's funeral in circa 1931. Let me know, if you'd like me to email a copy. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
