Does anyone have the "date of death for Charles Wesley Zahn" b. 9 Nov 1811 in Augusta Co., VA s/o John Zahn b. (when?) and Mary Magdaline Strock b. 1777 in York County, PA. d. (when?).When it is said the family came from Prussia, where? any idea?, Prussia was a hugh Empire during the time round and about the mid to late 1700's prior to Prussia loosing power to Germans. Old Prussians were along the Baltic Sea.The names of the Prussian tribes all reflected the theme of landscape. Most of the names were based on water in a land dotted with thousands of lakes, streams and swamps. This land was isolated in type of region it was back then. The land of the Old Prussians consisted approximately of central and southern East Prussia---the present-day Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship of Poland, the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia, and the southern Klaipeda Region of Lithuania. The Old Prussians were conquered by the Teutonic Knights in 13th century and gradually assimilated over the following centuries. The former German state of Prussia took its name from the Baltic Prussians, although it was led by the Germans who had assimilated the Old Prussians. I guess we can say Prussia was a region the Zahn's came from and can have the blend of Poland, Russia, Lithuania and German descendants.
I have been researching Zahn family info for Gladnalene Lipscomb b. abt 1919 d/o Hobert Lipscomb and Lelah Zahn (d/o Benjamin Franklin Zahn b. 1857 d. 1944 s/o Charles Wesley Zahn and Lydia Hoover) Benjamin Franklin m. Mary Alice Lipscomb.Gladnalene Lipscomb m. Torrence Rodney Bell.
I'd appreciate anyone that has the above info on Charles Wesley date of death, John Zahn date of birth, and Mary Magdaline Strock date of death and places for each if that is known also.
Gladnalene Lipscomb Bell is sister-in-law to my husband and I'd like to find more info for her. We have a lot of info on her childrens father "The Bell Family", but she doesn't have as much on her side of the family. It has been many yrs. since I last tried and thought perhaps more progress has been made by her descendants. She doesn't have a computer so I'm her go between for the internet searches. The copies of family papers she has only give the cause of death on many and not the year of death.
The following is the causes of death for the Children of Charles Wesley Zahn that is written down.
