Yesterday I saw Bjorn Gangers 6 years old question about Marja Maria Marama Holmsen Zane 1930. Perhaps you have already got to know what you want about her.But I tell you what I know anyhow. I am her cousin but I never met her as far as I know (I am born in 1942). Her father, the author Sverre Holmsen was my father's eldest brother. You can read about Sverre at Wikipedia. Her mother was Margit née Holm. Sverre was born by Norwegian parents in Johannesburg in South Africa. My grandfather Sverre was a mining engineer in South Africa and my grandmother Sylvia was a nurse. They moved to Gyttorp and Nora in Sweden where my grandfather was head of the engineers in the gunpowder factory in Gyttorp. My father Egil was born in Nora. Between Sverre and Egil there was Hildur and Jens born in Norway. There is a family tree book about our family which you would find in Norway. (I will try to find the full title if you want to.) Sverre, Marjas father was a globe-trotter and a communist when he was young, he fell out with his father and enrolled as a sailor for some time. In 1928 he married Margit Holm whom I think was born in Örebro close to Nora. They went to Tahiti and stayed there for some years. Sverre has written many books about his life abroad and of life in Tahiti and polynesia. They divorced and I think Margit died quite early. Sverre remarried Agda Göthlin in 1945 and Marja has a half sister, Lena, born around 1945 and married Montgomery (now divorced - I do not know if she has the same name now)and a half brother, Reidar Holmsen born in the fifties. I haven't met them for at least 15 years but I found Reidar on this when I googled him:email@example.com
tel. nr in Sweden, Stockholm 08-588 99 226.
I think Lena can tell you more if you can find her. Last time I heard of her she was a nurse and lived in Skåne in the south of Sweden. About Sverres family I can tell you more if you want to.
My father has written 3 autobiographic novels (only in Swedish) about his childhood and youth in Nora and I can tell you more about the family if you want to. Sorry that I know so little about Margit Holm and Marja herself. I hope this will answer some of your questions. Ylva Mannerheim firstname.lastname@example.org
