My great grandparents came from Russia in in the 1890's. They had a son in 1900 named Henry Zaretsky...he later shortened his name to Zaret. I live in Chicago. He was raised in chicago. His mother was from the what is now Poland, used to be part of the Ukraine. Her name was Krany Katz. They are all Jews. I have recently found out that Krany's relatives were originally from Hungary. Most of herfamily that remained there were killed, except those that fled to America and Russia. i know that i have a great-great half grandaunt who's married name was Molly Zaretsky...i think that is a very common name over in Russia thought...i think it is a name of loyalty to the king. please email me anyway.
