William J. Zeigler passed away on March 15, 2000 in Big Pine Key, FL. He was born Nov. 22, 1923 in Chicago. Bill was a well-known businessman in Lake County for many years. Originally founded in 1947 by his father, William Guy Zeigler and son, Bill, William Zeigler & Sons, Inc. operated with the help of his mother, Paula, for many years. He held leadership positions in several trade associations including the Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors Assn., Mechanical Contractors Assn., Lake County Contractors Assn., and a Charter member of the Canvasback Rod and Gun Club in Ingleside. Although northern Illinois was home for much of his life, Bill spent his later years enjoying beautiful Big Pine Key, FL. He is most remembered for his love of hunting and fishing which took him around the world with Trek Safaris and often to several favorite Central American places including a great deal of time in Honduras. Labrador Lady was his constant companion. Bill was survived by his wife,Frankie;their children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother,Paula Zeigler France and father,William G. Zeigler. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030. Friends of the family may visit from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held immediately following the service at Lakeside Cemetery in Libertyville.
