From the Indianapolis Star on-line -------- September 2, 2010 Robert Leo Zike 84, of Fishers, passed away August 30, 2010. He was born March 14, 1926 in Indianapolis to the late Leo and Margaret Felton Zike. Robert served in the U.S. Army Air Force where he was a member of the 8th Air Force, 40th Bomb Wing and was also a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He had an associate's degree from Purdue University and worked for Western Electric as a supervisor for 35 years. Robert was a member of Soldiers' Memorial Chapel, Western Electric Pioneers, Master Mason for Millersville Masonic Lodge #126, Past Commander of Hoosier Power Squadron and Educational Officer for District 24, Past President of Wally Bynum Airstream Club, and Past Commadore IYC. Visitation will be held Friday, September 3, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Rd., with funeral services Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to service. Robert is survived by his wife, Gisela; sons, Eric (Marianne) and Jerry (Sherry) Zike; daughters, Peggy and Barbara Zike; 4 sisters, six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
