Hi, Evelyn and greetings from New Brunswick, Canada. With great interest read your message regarding the Shufelts of Iron Hill, Quebec. My parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, & great granparents all resided (mostly farmers), in the greater Cowansville, East Farnham, Iron Hill region of the Eastern Townships of Quebec. There was a Shufelt history written by one Henry B. Shufelt in the 1930s (blue hard cover) entitled "Our Folks", which touched deeply, many of our NY-Quebec ancestors. This book, in whole and part is available for research both at the Brome County Historical Society, located in Ville de Lac Brome (Knowlton), Quebec. If you prefer, on the internet a website has been created for the Missisquoi Museum, located in Stanbridge East, Quebec, where you will find access to the same book on the Shufelts. I remember Dad speaking of a cousin named Alan Shufelt, who lived in Iron Hill (now deceased I believe). Sorry I can't help you more.
